What 270° means

A 270° rotation turns the image three quarter-turns clockwise, which lands in exactly the same place as a single 90° counter-clockwise turn. It's the fix when a photo is lying on its left side and needs to stand upright.

It's lossless: the pixels are rotated in quarter-turn steps with no resampling. As with a 90° turn, the width and height swap places.

How to rotate an image 270 degrees

  1. Open your image. Drag, choose, or paste your photo.
  2. Apply 270°. The page opens already set to 270°. That's identical to pressing rotate-left once.
  3. Download. Save the upright image in its original format.

270° or rotate-left — same thing

If you prefer, just use the rotate-left button: one press equals a 270° clockwise rotation. The 270° preset is here so the result is one click from the landing page.

Frequently asked questions

Is 270° the same as 90° counter-clockwise?

Yes — exactly the same final orientation. Use whichever label makes more sense to you.

Does rotating 270° reduce quality?

No. Quarter-turn rotations are lossless; only optional re-encoding can affect quality.

Will the format stay the same?

Yes, by default. You can change the output format before you download.

Where is my image processed?

The rotation happens in your browser, so the new file is created on your own device. How any data associated with the tool is handled is described in our privacy policy.
