What 270° means
A 270° rotation turns the image three quarter-turns clockwise, which lands in exactly the same place as a single 90° counter-clockwise turn. It's the fix when a photo is lying on its left side and needs to stand upright.
It's lossless: the pixels are rotated in quarter-turn steps with no resampling. As with a 90° turn, the width and height swap places.
How to rotate an image 270 degrees

What rotate 270° (three quarter turns) does
A 270° rotation is three quarter-turns clockwise, which lands in exactly the same place as a single 90° counter-clockwise turn. Like any quarter-turn it swaps the image's width and height, and the canvas grows so nothing is clipped.
Pick 270° when a photo is sideways the opposite way to a plain 90° clockwise fix — the top edge needs to go to the left, not the right. It's the natural correction for portrait shots rotated the 'wrong' direction by the camera or an app.
