One maker for every ID photo

Passport photos, visa photos, driving-licence photos, and other ID photos all share the same recipe: an exact physical size, a high print resolution, the head at the right height, and a plain background. This maker gives you presets for the common documents plus generic sizes, so you can produce the right photo for almost anything.

Pick a document or a generic size, upload a front-facing photo, fit your head inside the guide, and choose the background. Download the exact-size photo for an online form, or print a sheet of copies to cut out for in-person use.

How to make an ID photo

  1. Upload your photo. A clear, front-facing photo on a plain wall works best.
  2. Choose the document or size. Pick a country preset, or a generic 2 × 2 inch or 35 × 45 mm size.
  3. Fit your head. Zoom and drag so your head sits inside the oval guide.
  4. Download or print a sheet. Save the photo, or print copies on a 4 × 6 inch sheet.

When in doubt, check the spec

If your document lists an exact size or head height, match it: choose the closest preset (or the generic size) and use the zoom and guide lines to set the head height. The output is always at 300 DPI so it prints at the correct physical size.

A good general rule is to centre the face so the head fills roughly 50–80% of the frame; the exact head height depends on which ID you are making.

ID photo (2 × 2 default) rules & notes

  • ID photos come in many sizes — the two most common are 2 × 2 inches (600 × 600 px, the US standard, shown here by default) and 35 × 45 mm (413 × 531 px, the worldwide standard) — so switch the preset to match your specific ID.
  • The shared essentials are a recent colour photo, a plain even background, a neutral expression with eyes open, even lighting with no harsh shadows, and the full face clearly visible.
  • Different IDs (driving licence, national ID, residence card, student or work pass) set their own size, background, and head-height rules, so always confirm the requirement from the issuing authority before printing.
