Protect your photos with a text watermark

A text watermark is the quickest way to label a photo as yours. Whether it's a discreet © Your Name in the corner or a bold repeating pattern across the whole frame, a text watermark deters casual copying and keeps your credit attached wherever the image travels.

This tool adds the text entirely in your browser, so the finished image is created on your own device. Set the font, colour, size, opacity, and rotation, then drag the text anywhere on the preview — what you see is exactly what downloads.

How to add a text watermark

  1. Open your photo. Drag it in, paste it, or choose a file. Add several to watermark them all at once.
  2. Type your text. Enter your name, brand, or copyright line, then pick a font and colour.
  3. Style it. Set the size, opacity, and rotation, and add an outline or shadow so it reads on any background.
  4. Position it. Use the 3×3 grid, drag it anywhere, or turn on Tile to repeat it across the image.
  5. Download. Export as PNG, JPG, or WebP — your watermarked photo saves to your device.

Tip: make it readable but subtle

White or black text at around 45–55% opacity with a soft shadow works on almost any photo. For maximum protection, tile the text diagonally — a repeating watermark is far harder to crop or clone out than a single corner mark.

Where is my image processed?

The watermarking happens in your browser, so the finished image is created on your own device. How any data associated with the tool is handled is described in our privacy policy.

Frequently asked questions

Can I choose the font and colour of the text?

Yes — pick from several font styles, set any colour, and toggle bold, italic, an outline, and a shadow. Everything updates live on the preview.

Can I add a copyright symbol?

Yes. Type © directly (or paste it) into the text box along with your name or year, for example "© 2026 Your Studio".

How do I make the text repeat across the photo?

Turn on "Tile across the whole image". The text repeats in a grid; use rotation for a diagonal pattern and the spacing slider to set the gaps.
