Add Text to JPG

JPG is the most common format for photos, so it's usually a JPG you want to add text to — a caption for a social post, a label on a product shot, or a name and date on a snapshot. This free tool adds text to JPG images in your browser and lets you export the result as a JPG again.

Because JPG can't store transparency, when you export as JPG any transparent areas are filled with a background color you choose — but for a normal photo this never matters. Add as many text layers as you need, style each one with a font, color, outline, and shadow, and keep the photo at its full original resolution.

How to add text to a JPG

1. Open your JPG. Drag the JPG in, choose a file, or paste it.
2. Add your text. Type your caption or label into the Text box.
3. Position and style. Drag it into place and set the font, color, and outline.
4. Keep JPG output. Leave the export format on JPG (or pick PNG/WebP).
5. Download. Save the captioned JPG to your device.
