Change how fast a GIF plays

A GIF can feel too frantic or too sluggish for what you're sharing. The speed changer adjusts the delay between frames so the animation plays faster or slower, without dropping or adding any frames.

Pick a multiplier — 2× to make it twice as fast, 0.5× to make it half speed — or fine-tune with the slider. The preview plays at the new speed so you can land on exactly the right pace before downloading.

How to change a GIF's speed

  1. Open your GIF. Drag it onto the tool, or choose a file.
  2. Set the speed. Drag the speed slider or tap a preset like 2× or 0.5×.
  3. Make & download. Click Apply & make GIF to download the GIF at its new speed.

Speed without losing smoothness

Speeding a GIF up shortens each frame's delay; very high speeds can look choppy if the GIF has few frames. Slowing down is always smooth — it simply holds each frame longer.
