Make an initials avatar

An initials avatar — one or two letters on a coloured tile — is the cleanest profile picture for apps, forums, team pages, and placeholder accounts. This generator makes one in seconds: type the initials, pick the shape and colours, and download a sharp image at any size.

Choose a circle, a rounded square, or a plain square; set the background and text colours; and adjust the text size. Turn on a transparent background and export a PNG to drop the avatar onto any design, or keep a solid tile for a ready-to-use picture.

How to create an avatar

1. Type the initials. Enter one to three letters — they're shown uppercase and centred on the tile.
2. Pick shape and colours. Choose circle, rounded, or square, then set the background and text colours and the text size.
3. Size and download. Use the 512×512 avatar preset (or any size), then download a PNG — transparent if you turned that on.

Pick readable colours

For the clearest avatar, use a strong background colour with white or near-white text (or the reverse). High contrast keeps the initials legible even at small sizes like 32×32 in a comment thread.
