What an Open Graph image is for
When a page is shared on social media, Slack, iMessage, or WhatsApp, the platform reads the page's Open Graph (og:image) tag and shows a preview card. The recommended size is 1200×630 pixels (1.91:1). A clear, branded OG image makes your links look trustworthy and gets more clicks.

How to generate an OG image
- It opens at 1200×630. The Open Graph card size is preset, so the canvas matches what platforms expect.
- Add your title. Put the page or article title as the headline and your site name as the sub-text.
- Choose a background. A gradient or a darkened photo keeps it readable. Set the accent colour to your brand.
- Download & link it. Export the image, host it, and point your page's og:image meta tag at the URL.
Keep titles short and centred
Preview cards are shown small, so use a short title and a heavy weight. Avoid placing text near the very edges — some platforms add rounded corners or slight cropping to the card.
