Scan a QR code without a camera
You don't always have the code in front of you to point a camera at — it might be a screenshot someone sent, an image in a PDF, or a photo already in your gallery. This tool scans the QR code directly from that image file, so you never need the live camera.
It is the perfect fix on a desktop, or when the code is on the same screen you're using. Just upload, drag, or paste the image and the code is decoded instantly, with the link or text shown and ready to copy.
How to scan a QR code from an image
- Open Read. Use the Read tab at the top of the tool.
- Add your image. Drop in the screenshot or photo, choose a file, or paste it from your clipboard.
- Read the code. The contents appear right away — copy the text or open a link.
- Scan another. Load a new image any time to scan again.
Crop tight if a busy image fails
If a busy screenshot doesn't decode on the first try, crop it down so the QR code fills most of the frame, then scan again. A clear, well-lit code with a little surrounding margin reads most reliably.

Far scansionare un'immagine ostinata
- Se uno screenshot carico fallisce, ritaglialo così che il codice QR occupi la maggior parte dell'inquadratura, lascia un margine sottile attorno e riscansiona.
- La decodifica avviene interamente dall'immagine che fornisci, quindi non c'è alcun passaggio con fotocamera in tempo reale — è ideale su un computer o quando il codice è già sul tuo schermo.
- Per la foto di un codice stampato, riscattala frontalmente con luce uniforme e senza riflessi del flash anziché in obliquo, che deforma la griglia quadrata.
- Le immagini molto piccole, sbiadite o molto compresse perdono il dettaglio fine dei moduli di cui un decodificatore ha bisogno; una copia più nitida o più grande è la soluzione più rapida.
