Tips for accurate image recognition

• Because the engine and your chosen language download once and then run on your device, it keeps working offline after the first successful run — useful on a flaky connection.
• The first run is the slow one (it fetches the WASM engine and the language model); repeat runs reuse the loaded worker and are much faster, and switching language only downloads that new model.
• It uses the LSTM (neural) recognition model and ships a curated 35-language selector spanning 9 scripts; choose the language that matches your image before running.
• It's tuned for printed and typed text; for the cleanest result use a high-resolution, high-contrast, roughly upright image — the same conditions that help any OCR engine.
• Very large images are downscaled to 2600 px on the long edge before recognition, which keeps it fast without meaningfully affecting accuracy on document-sized text.

Languages & scripts it can read

Pick the language that matches your image before running OCR — it loads the right model and improves accuracy, and it's required for non-Latin scripts. The curated selector covers these scripts:

Arabic, Persian, Urdu, and Hebrew are read right-to-left and the result box flips to match. Printed and typed text is recognised most reliably; handwriting and very small or decorative type are less accurate, so review the result.
