Spot the difference, automatically

The classic 'spot the difference' game asks you to hunt for tiny changes between two almost-identical pictures. This tool does the hunting for you: load both images and it compares them pixel by pixel, painting every difference so nothing slips past — useful for puzzles, proofreading, and quality checks alike.

Because it works on the actual pixels, it catches changes that are easy to miss by eye — a moved object, a recoloured detail, a one-pixel shift. A threshold control lets you ignore harmless compression noise so only the real differences stand out, and you can save the highlighted result.

How to spot the difference between two images

  1. Add both images. Drop the two near-identical pictures into slots A and B.
  2. Adjust the threshold. Raise it to ignore compression noise; lower it to catch the subtlest change.
  3. Reveal the differences. Click Find differences and every change is highlighted at once.
  4. Save it. Download the highlighted image to keep or share the answer.

Make subtle changes pop

Crank the background dimming up so unchanged areas fade to grey and the highlighted differences jump out. For tricky puzzles, drop the threshold low so even a single recoloured pixel is flagged.

Perguntas frequentes

Can it find the differences for me automatically?

Yes. Load two images and it compares every pixel, highlighting all the differences in one pass.

Will it catch very small changes?

It can — lower the threshold so even a single changed pixel is flagged. Raise it to ignore compression noise.

Do the two images need to line up?

They should be the same size and aligned for the cleanest result; otherwise the offset itself shows up as a difference.

Where are my images processed?

The comparison happens in your browser, so the results are created on your own device. How any data associated with the tool is handled is described in our privacy policy.
