Find Duplicate Images

Drop a set of photos and group the look-alikes — a perceptual fingerprint catches duplicates even after resizing or re-compression.

Finding duplicates by how images look

Exact-match tools only catch files that are byte-for-byte identical, which misses the most common duplicates: the same photo saved twice at different sizes, exported as both a JPG and a PNG, or re-compressed by a chat app. This finder compares how images look, not their raw bytes, so those near-duplicates are caught too.

It works by computing a small perceptual hash — a compact visual fingerprint — for each image, then grouping images whose fingerprints are close. A sensitivity slider lets you decide how similar 'duplicate' means: stricter to catch only true copies, looser to surface visually related shots.

How to find duplicate images

  1. Add your images. Drop a whole set onto the tool, or pick multiple files at once.
  2. Let it fingerprint. Each image is hashed locally in your browser as it loads.
  3. Read the groups. Images that look alike are grouped together and badged as duplicates.
  4. Adjust sensitivity. Use the slider to make matching stricter or looser, and remove any image from the set.

Stricter vs looser matching

A low tolerance groups only near-identical copies — ideal for cleaning out true duplicates. A higher tolerance also groups visually similar shots, like burst photos or lightly edited versions, which is handy when you want to pick the best of a set.

अक्सर पूछे जाने वाले सवाल

Will it find resized or re-compressed duplicates?

Usually yes. The perceptual hash is robust to scaling and re-compression, so a large JPG and a small PNG of the same photo are still grouped.

How many images can I scan?

You can drop a large set at once; everything is hashed in your browser. Very large batches simply take a little longer to fingerprint.

Does it delete duplicates for me?

No — it groups and highlights them so you can decide. You can remove any image from the on-screen set.

Where are my images processed?

The comparison happens in your browser, so the results are created on your own device. How any data associated with the tool is handled is described in our privacy policy.
