Why blur an image?

Blurring is the gentle way to hide something in a photo. A soft blur over a face, a house number, or a name in the background keeps the overall picture looking natural while making the obscured part unreadable. It's perfect for sharing a screenshot or holiday photo without exposing strangers, addresses, or private notes.

This tool uses a true Gaussian-style blur with a strength slider, so you control exactly how much detail disappears. You can blur the whole image at once or drag a box over just the part you want to soften — everything else stays sharp and full-resolution.

How to blur an image

  1. Open your image. Drag a photo onto the tool above, choose a file, or paste from your clipboard.
  2. Pick what to blur. Choose Selected areas and drag a box over each part to hide, or switch to Whole image to soften everything.
  3. Set the strength. Slide the blur strength up until the detail is gone, then download in your original format.

Blur enough to truly hide

A light blur can sometimes be reversed by software. If the detail is genuinely sensitive — a face you must not reveal, an account number — push the strength high, or use the Redact bars to paint over it completely.

अक्सर पूछे जाने वाले सवाल

How do I blur just part of an image?

Choose Selected areas and drag a rectangle over the part you want to hide. Add as many boxes as you need; the rest of the image stays sharp.

Is a blurred area really hidden?

A strong blur makes a face or text unreadable. For information that must never be recovered, use a very high strength or switch to the Redact (solid bar) mode.

Does blurring lose quality elsewhere?

No. Only the blurred area changes; the rest of the image stays at full resolution. The blur is baked in when you download.

Where is my image processed?

The blurring happens in your browser, so the new file is created on your own device. How any data associated with the tool is handled is described in our privacy policy.
